In 10 days I'll be taking off for my 3-month stay in Korea. I've given up on organizing my house (it will just be the same mess upon my return that it has been for a long time) but am trying to organize other aspects of my life. I bought the mini netbook on which I'm typing this (getting accustomed to the small screen and more minimal keyboard) and, with Godson Douglas' help, have set up this blog. That way, friends who are interested in my Korean "adventure" will be able to check in to find out what's happening on their schedule and in accordance with their interest level. If you don't care, you don't need to click. . . .
My friend HaeJung (or Angela as she's known to English-speaking friends) did a lot of searching and has found me a place to live. It's one room with kitchen facilities. It's located in the Ramada Hotel near City Hall, but this room is a condo (sort of) since it's owned privately by an individual who leases it out for short term rentals. That still leaves some questions (who provides linens, who cleans, does the hotel desk provide services?), but those can be resolved after my arrival. At least I have a comfortable, safe, place in which to stay right away. HaeJung e-mailed me some pictures of the room that I tried to include. However, the blog was always rejected by the blog powers that be so I deleted them, hoping that might resolve the problem. We'll see. . . .

Hi, everyone. This is Shirley's brother (in Chicago). I'll be following the 'experiences' of my globe-trotting little-Sister here, along with everyone else. She just can't stay at 'home' very long, can she?
